Who am I?

My name is Kevin Montoya, I'm a 25 yo mexican software engineer that is always looking to learn new things and get challenges. When it comes to software, I'm not comfortable with a lucky good enough solution, I want to understand the bottom of it, the many possibilities it will face, to obtain an holistic well defined mental image of what lines of code or configurations will later transform into a product and transform it into the most scalable solution simultaneously weighting effort and usability. My IT knowledge covers several disciplines, like networking, operating systems, cloud environments, devops, programming, databases, cybersecurity, and more.

Why did I create a website?

Well, why not? The main reason behind this is to have a place where I could add all my engineering knowledge and experience (since it wouldn't fit in a two pages curriculum) and share the stuff I'm learning (also, this is a way to have my learning documented so if I'm unable to remember a specific detail, I can look it up on this website).

More about me

I was born on Mexico and, therefore, spanish is my first language. I have always had close contact with english speakers so naturally I'd learn it. I also have decent knowledge in portuguese (which, to be honest, is pretty much the same as spanish) and learning russian, currently A2 level. I also look forward to learn chinese and arabic

I'm a person that is always looking to gain knowledge, cause I believe the moment you stop learning is the moment you start dying. I consider that knowledge should be obtained for the mere purpose of freeing oneself, since it gives you a diferent insight and makes you realize that you are the universe experiencing itself. Outside my professional career I also have other interests like languages, phylosophy, politics, economics, music and martial arts
